The Hemingway 5k Sunset Run & Paddleboard Race will challenge competitors Saturday, July 24, as a live event with strict safety protocols. Alternatively, athletes who prefer to compete on their own can do so using the free RaceJoy app to track their progress and submit their results. Dozens of stocky, bearded men resembling Ernest Hemingway are to return to Key West for the 2021 Hemingway® Look-Alike Contest, after the global coronavirus pandemic preempted the 2020 competition. Staged at Sloppy Joe’s Bar, where it began some 40 years ago, the contest’s preliminary rounds are slated for 6:30 p.m. July 22 and 23.
