Key West’s World Famous Duval Street
What can I say, Duval Street is by far the most famous street in the entire Florida Keys & Key West! At night it’s nothing less than party central filled with thousands upon thousands of party-goers, during the day it sits atop EVERY vacationing families MUST-DO list for the always amusing crowd gazing and of course shopping. It’s a street where so many GREAT memories are made and at the same time where so many GREAT memories are barely recalled. At certain times of the year it’s pedestrian only like New Years & Fantasy Fest while most days car traffic is allowed.
This is ground zero for Key West’s most famous bar “Sloppy Joe’s” which is also known as the hangout of Ernest Hemingway. Also on this street that stretches from the Atlantic Ocean all the way to the Gulf of Mexico is the Butterfly Conservatory, Water Cistern, Ripley’s Believe It or Not!, Hog’s Breath Saloon, Hard Rock Café, Smallest Bar in Key West, Red Barn Theatre, The Bull, Key Lime Square, La Concha Hotel, Ghost Tours, Oldest Home, Episcopal Church, Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville, Cowboy Bill’s, Strand Theatre, Heartbreak Hotel (yes, it’s on Lonely Street), Southern Cross Hotel, Southernmost Hotel, Southernmost Beach, Southernmost Home in the USA and so much more! Have no fear Mr. & Mrs. readers; I’ll give you the skinny on each in future blogs keeping your knowledge growing! It’s true, 12 out of 10 mathematicians concur that reading this blog EVERY DAY improves your ability to calculate fractions.
PS – If you’re interested in nabbing the EXACT photo seen here, simply go to the corner of Duval Street & Front Street and look up!
