Key West’s Time Capsule

Beyond a doubt one the most amazing unexpected discoveries ever in Key West.

Seen here is a brain coral replica that hides beneath a treasure trove of unknown goodies from the year ‘2000. This time capsule was set in place on NOAA’s 30th anniversary (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration). Though it doesn’t say exactly when it’s to be opened, I’m sure that you nor I will be around to see it… so tell you grand-kids!

This my friends is VERY hard to find, hidden behind a building that NO ONE ever walks is a crying shame on its decision makers choice of placement. You can find this hidden time capsule behind the Eco Discovery Center in the Truman Waterfront area of town. Turn on East Quay Road that’s wedged between the Eco Center on the right and Zachery Taylor Civil War Fort on the left. Go down to the parking lot entrance on your right which is behind the Eco Center, there you’ll see a sidewalk leading to two buildings, the time capsule is right in the middle. (seen below)
